The final season of Game of Thrones has been really polarizing for the fanbase, which I think has a lot to do with expectations and theories, as well as the result of not enough outlining and the decision to pace the final seasons with broad points as opposed to the slower, ambling path of the first four seasons.
There are a lot of possible discussion points for this season and how all creators can learn from what GoT has done, but I'm not going to get into them here. Maybe when the last episode is done and I've had some time to decompress, I'll create a piece about it.
This is more of a fun post. I found through watching Season 8, I kept thinking about how I would have liked to have seen the story wrap up, and those ideas basically wouldn't stop poking me, so I've written out an outline of how my theories would have wrapped up.
HUGE disclaimer: this exercise has really just been for fun. I've put a grand total of an hour or two of work into this, so it's nowhere near perfect, nor am I trying to make any statements about anything, I just wanted to share it for anyone who might be interested in another take on how the series could have ended. (Also, the world and characters are not my own, they belong to GRRM and HBO, etc. etc.).
So, without further ado, take a look at A Version of My Own, and if you dig it, tell me what you think! :D
What were your theories about the show, and how did you think it was going to end?
